Is Parvo disease in dogs usually fatal?
Canine Parvovirus (Parvo) is a highly contagious virus that attacks the intestinal track in dogs. Puppies and immunocompromised dogs are most susceptible. Parvo can be fatal, especially if untreated. Most dogs survive this virus if they are diagnosed (parvo test) early and aggressively treated by a veterinarian. Signs to look for are: vomiting, diarrhea (bloody) and inappetence. If your dog shows any of these sings please take him or her to your local veterinarian as soon as possible.
